And to understand why, we just to look at sales psychology, and in particular, the Law Of Reciprocity. When you give a customer something for free, they feel indebted to you and are more likely to buy. If you don’t have the budget yet, I suggest you do this when you have a product that you have tested and is selling continuously and then you install this app. ** create discount coupon First thing you need to do is to create a 20% discount coupon inside your Shopify dashboard. 1. Type in the name of your discount code, then put the percentage of the discount that will be applied to the order. Then scroll down and choose Limit to one use per customer. To install the app, go to your Dashboard, click on Apps and click on Visit the Shopify App Store. In the search box, type in Spin A Sale and do a search. So in this video, I'm gonna teach you how 00:02 to install a Shopify app that has been shown to 00:05 increase sales and conversions. And I'm also going to give 00:07 you some sneaky tips. And that app is something you've 00:10 probably seen before, spinner sale. What happens is a pop 00:13 up box slides onto the screen with a wheel that 00:16 has prizes on it. When customers enter their name and 00:18 email, the win will spin and will land on a 00:20 prize that is a discount coupon. As far as the 00:23 customer is concerned, what prize it lands on is random. 00:27 Now this was an app that I was skeptical of 00:29 for a long time but it's been proven to work. 00:32 And the reason why it works can be explained when 00:34 we look at psychological marketing techniques. 1 of the most 00:37 powerful psychological marketing techniques that you can employ is the 00:41 law of reciprocity. 00:42 The law of reciprocity is when you give a customer 00:45 something for free. It makes them feel indebted to you 00:48 and more likely to buy from you and this is 00:50 what we are going to do with the Shopify app. 00:52 We are going to give the customer a discount coupon 00:55 for 20 percent off. This is going to make them 00:57 feel indebted to us and more likely to buy. Now 01:00 usually when people set up their Shopify app spin to 01:04 win, they will add 5 different discount coupons 01:07 be 01:08 random which 1 it lands on for the customer. However, 01:11 we're not gonna do that. Instead, we're gonna set it 01:13 so that 100 percent of the time, it lands on 01:16 the coupon that we want it to, which is the 01:18 biggest, the 20 percent off coupon. And the reason why 01:21 we will do this is because it will trigger the 01:23 law of reciprocity. 01:25 By making the customer believe that they won the biggest 01:27 coupon randomly, it will make them feel indebted to us 01:30 even more since they now think that we gave them 01:33 a special prize. In addition, we are going to use 01:35 copy techniques to trigger the emotion of curiosity. We're gonna 01:39 use words to make customers curious about what prize they're 01:42 gonna win, even though of course we know that they're 01:44 always going to win the biggest prize. Now before we 01:46 begin this tutorial, I need to let you know this 01:49 app is not free. It costs 10 dollars a month. 01:52 If you don't have the budget for 10 dollars a 01:54 month, what I recommend that you do is you hold 01:56 off until you've got a product that you have tested 01:59 and are selling consistently 02:00 and then you install this app. But once you've got 02:03 the money to invest in this app, not only is 02:05 it a great app to install because it's going to 02:07 increase the chances that customers buy from you, but it 02:10 will also mean that you're collecting their email addresses so 02:12 that you can market to them later. So with that 02:14 out of the way, let's begin the tutorial. 02:17 The first thing that you're going to need to do 02:18 is you're going to need to create a 20 percent 02:20 off coupon inside your Shopify admin area. Let me show 02:23 you how easy it is to do this. 02:26 In your Shopify dashboard, click discounts. 02:29 Then click create discounts. Then click discount code. 02:32 Next, enter the name for your discount code. 02:35 Add in the discount value. This will be the percentage 02:37 of the discount that will be applied to the order. 02:40 Scroll down and click limit to 1 use per customer 02:43 option for the usage limit. 02:45 Then click save discount. 02:47 And as easy as that, we've now added a discount 02:49 offer to our Shopify store. Alright. Now that we've got 02:52 our coupon, it's time to install our app. Before we 02:55 do that though, there are some things that we want 02:57 to do in advance. Firstly, remember how in step 3 03:01 that we chose a specific color as our store's color? 03:04 Well, we're gonna want to use that in this tutorial. 03:07 Secondly, remember the favicon we installed in step 3? This 03:10 was my favicon picture. It is the Brew Treats icon. 03:13 We're going to use this favicon image for this tutorial. 03:16 If you don't have a favicon, then create a square 03:18 icon that is 72 pixels by 72 pixels now. The 03:22 icon should represent your store in some way and it 03:24 should be on a transparent background. A good idea is 03:27 to use some part of your store logo for it 03:29 like I did here. We will need this for the 03:32 tutorial. To create this icon, I used my favorite image 03:35 editing software Photoshop. If you'd like to get Photoshop, I'll 03:38 have a link to it on this page. Alternatively, 03:41 you can use the free image editing software Pixlr. I 03:43 will also have a link to that on this page. 03:46 And once you've got those things gathered together, it's time 03:48 to add this app to your store. Let me switch 03:50 over to my computer and show you how easy it 03:52 is. In your dashboard, click apps. Then visit the Shopify 03:56 app store. 03:57 Type in 'spin a sale' in the search box. 04:00 Click this from the search results. 04:02 Now click add app. In the next page, scroll down 04:05 and click install app. 04:08 Scroll down and click select under the free trial option. 04:12 Click start free trial. 04:14 Scroll down and select the theme you want from your 04:16 spin app. Then click save and continue. 04:19 Next, enter details and set up prizes. 04:22 Type in 20 percent off coupon in prize 1 name. 04:25 Type in winner under coupon name. 04:28 Enter 100 under probability. 04:31 Type in your custom message under prize 1 details. 04:36 Next, enter 15 percent off coupon and prize 2 name. 04:40 Type in anything under coupon name. Enter 5 percent off 05:11 coupon and price 4 name.
