- most people are only concerned with getting the Lease
- once you graduate to your first buyout you need to know this
- this is the fastest way to make money if you sold the master to a record label that knows how to promote
- after you recoup your advance, this goes to your pocket

*** record one clause
- gives your producer royalties from first record sold or first stream after producer advance is recouped
- gives a boost

*** sound exchange letter of direction
- get a soundexchange account
- you must send them a letter of direction to sound exchange tell them you want certain people to get a portion of their royalty

** if the artist or label doesn't agree
- 90% will
- the other 10%

** tried going 50% and it didn't work
