In this step, I’m going to show to edit the best showcase video that you can use for your ads. I’m going to run you through the software that you should be using to edit the videos, where to find the perfect music and the detailed process of editing your own video.

The first thing we are going to talk about today is software. The software that I recommend you use is Adobe Premier Pro. It’s one of the premier editing software in the market right now. The cost for the software is $20/month for a single app and $52/month for the entire suite.
For basic video editing, I suggest you get the One App per month plan because it’s not pricey and you are really going to use one app in editing the video. So once you’ve downloaded and installed the software into your computer, the next part of the process is finding the correct music for your video. You need to remember two things when it comes to finding the correct music for your video:
- Make sure that the vibe of the song fits your video
- Make sure that the music has absolutely no copyright
When it comes to finding the right vibe for your music, you want your users to be excited and happy about the product so you want the song to reflect that. So I recommend choosing an upbeat song when you’re editing the video. Try to stay away from sad songs because it isn’t the right vibe and doesn’t make sense to the viewer. the viewer will associate your products with sad emotions so they most likely wouldn’t end buying their products.
For finding music that is not copyrighted, I suggest heading over to http://epidemicsound.com. You can try out the free subscription or buy a subscription, you’ll have access to all their library music and unlimited downloads. The paid subscription is about $15/month.

Now that you’ve found the perfect music for your video, you can now move on to the actual editing process. So let’s jump on the computer and start editing the video.
Here’s the structure of the actual video. In the blue, I have the demonstration shots. it’s your subject demonstrating how to use your product. The rose colors, I have the detailed shots where the viewers can see the finer details of the product. And then on the green, I have music that we’re going to use. So everything is color-coded so that you can plug everything that you need in the correct spot and be done with it.

So let’s start editing this video so that you can see exactly how it’s done.
The first thing I’m going to do is to click on File then New then press Sequence.

That’s going to bring up this menu. Once you’re there, you want to pick AVCHD 1080p 30. It’s shot at 1080p at 30 frames per second. Then click Okay.

Next, we’re going to see a blank timeline.

The timeline is where you can structure the series of shots in order to make a sequence or a video. So the next thing we’re going to do is we want to import our clips. Go to File, click on Import. Then choose the clips that you want to import. Press Import, then it’s going to import the files.

You should see the imported files at the bottom right corner of your screen.

Once you have all your files imported, you can start editing your videos.
The first thing we’re going to do is to color code all the videos. We re going to label our videos so that we’ll know exactly what we’re using in the timeline.
So I’m going to do the detailed shots first, left-click the video that you want to color-code then press Shift left click up to the last detailed shots so that they are all highlighted. Then I’m going to right-click, choose label and then I’m going to label them Rose. So detailed shots will all be Rose-colored.

Then we’re going to do our demonstration shots. We’re going to left-click on the first demonstration shot and then Shift left click up to the last demonstration shots so that they’re all highlighted. Then we’re going to right-click, choose Label and click Iris.
Now that we have everything labeled, we can now start editing our showcase video. First, let put on the music. Drag the music to the timeline.

So there we go, we have the music in the timeline right now. Let’s open our clips and start editing. We’re going to continue with the structure of the video. The first three shots that we’re going to need are the demo shots. We’re going to come down to our demo shots and we’re going to construct the first three clips in the sequence.
Choose the first video that you want to use. You mark the video by dragging the cursor to where you want the video to start then press i on the keyboard.

And then, you want to come over and drag the cursor to where you want the video to stop then click O on your keyboard to mark that point. Then we’re going to drag the video over the beginning of the timeline. Right now, it’s about 4 seconds long and I want it to be about 2 1/2 seconds so what we’re going to do is to fast forward the clip to make it a little bit faster.

To do that, you highlight the clip and in the keyboard press Command R, to bring up the Clip Speed and Duration menu. Let’s change the duration to make it shorter from 4 seconds to 1.50 seconds.

So there we go, there’s our first clip right there.
The second clip that we are going to use is another demo clip. So you go over your imported clips and find the second clip that you need. Double click on it to see the preview on the upper left window.

We’re going to do the same process we did with the first clip to trim down the clip to where we want the video to begin and end. Once, that’s done we’re going to plug it in right into the timeline.

Next is we want to add another demo video to the timeline. Find the third demo video and do the same process that you did with the first and second clips.
Once you’ve got your demo videos plugged in the timeline, you can now add your demo shots. Now, since we have previously color-coded our clips after we have imported them, all detailed shots that we will be adding will appear in Rose color on the timeline.
Repeat the same procedures we did for adding the demo shots to the detailed shots. Once you’ve got them plugged into the timeline, it will look like something like this.

Keep adding the clips as you see fit based on the structure you like. It can be an alternate of demo shots then detailed shot then demo shots again or can be two demo shots then a detailed shot and then demo shots again.
Once you’ve got all the clips added to the timeline, you should check your music length. To match it to the video length, drag the end of the music bar to the same length as the end of the video.

So now you have your full structured product showcase video. The next part of the process is to color each clip so that it will look nice and really pops on the screen.
Click on the first video on the timeline then hover over to the Color tab on the top then left-click. it will bring up your basic color corrections panel. So this is what you’re going to use to color each of your clips.
Now we’re going to expand the timeline by dragging the small circle button at the bottom. As you can see, the colors look a little flat. The whites aren’t popping. So what we’re going to do is first start with the saturation. You can adjust it according to what you think looks best. After that, we can move on to contrast. Adjust as needed to create a nice contrast and texture. Then move on to highlights. Increase as well according to what’s needed. Lastly, edit the shadows. Make them a little bit darker.
Once you’ve done that to all the videos, you are now ready to export your video. If you have everything you wanted to be and the colors look great, you export by coming down to File, then Export then click on Media.

That’s going to bring up your export menu. Then we’re going to check the settings. For the format, you want it to be always in the H.264 format. For the preset, you want to match the highest bitrate.

Then you can edit the name of the video, change it to what you want. Click on Save. You want to export the video at 30fps. Then go down to the video tab and click on Render maximum depth to make sure that your video is nice and crisp. Then scroll down and tick the use maximum quality tick box.

Now that you’re all done with your videos and export, the last thing you need to is click on the Export button and you’re good to go.

So there you have it! You now have a product showcase video that you can use.
