Hello! In this tutorial video, the best possible product demonstration video that you can create. My name is Zac Lawson and I’m a professional videographer from Newport Beach, California. I’m going to run you through what software you should be using to edit this videos, where to find music for these videos, and the detail process of editing your own video.

|
||
Then once you learn these three things, you’re going to be ready to edit your very own product demonstration video.
|
||
|
||
So let’s jump right into the tutorials!
|
||
|
||
The first thing we are going to talk about today is software. The software that I’m going to recommend and the one that we’re going to use is Adobe Premiere Pro. It’s one of the premiere editing software out there in the market so you are going to spend a little bit of money in order to use the software. It cost $20 per month for a single app or $52 per month for the entire suite. Since you’re doing video editing then the $20 per month plan is going to be your best bet.

|
||
Once you’ve download and installed the software to your computer, the next part of the process is finding the correct song for your video. When it comes to choosing music, you have to remember two things, one the vibe should fit your video and two, it absolutely has not to have no copyright.
|
||
|
||
When it comes to choosing the vibe, you want to make sure that it’s upbeat and exciting because you want your viewers to be excited about your product. For example, for grocery bag you want use an upbeat music, if it’s not and it’s sad then it’s going to be a weird contrast between the subject in the video and the product. So it’s going to confuse your viewers.
|

|
||
For finding good music with no copyright, I suggest you go to www.epidemicmusic.com. They have a paid subscription but you can get away with the free subscription. The free subscription gets you a good playlist and a certain amount of downloads.
|
||
|
||
Once you’ve find a good music, it’s time to jump into your computer and start editing your video. So let’s get started editing the video.
|
||
|
||
Now we’re here in Adobe Premiere Pro, and like I said in the last video on how to shoot your very own product demonstration video, I’m going to teach you how to create this video just like a puzzle. You can plug in the correlating clip to it’s correlating spot and just be done with it. And I have color coordinated the videos so that you guys can easily see which clip goes where.

So in the blue ones, I have the demonstration videos, then the rose color I have the detail shots and then the green one is your music.

Now we’re ready to edit the product demonstration video and the first thing we are going to do is create a new sequence. We’re going to go to File, then click on New then click on Sequence.

It’s going to bring up this new sequence menu. What we want to choose is the AVCHDx33 frames and that’s the sequence setting that we want.

And that’s going to create a new timeline for us to construct. First thing we want to do is to put the music into the timeline. We’re going to go over here and click the drag audio only to the timeline. And that going to be about 30 seconds and that’s perfect for the length of our video.

Next thing we want to do is to put in our first clip. The first thing we want to put in there is a time lapse so we are going to find that time lapse and we are going to plug it into the video.

Now, you can see that the time lapse is about 27 seconds long and we want to shorten that to 3 to 4 seconds. So what we’re going to do is we want to make it faster. To do that, we press Command + R and it’s going to bring up the speed duration and let’s try to increase the duration to a 1000%. 750%. Then click Okay.

The second piece that we need is a demo video and it’s going to be about 2 to 2 1/2 seconds. The second clip that I’m going to use is the video of our subject coming home from the grocery store with her groceries in her bag. And right now it’s 2 1/2 seconds and we want to make that shorter. To do that, bring your cursor to where you want your clip to end and press O and that’s going to shorten it.

I also want to create an new endpoint to where the clip starts and the way to do that is to put your cursor at the start of the clip and press I. And then you want to drag that clip over to the timeline and click on the drag video only because we don’t want to the background noise to go with the video. We’re going to drag the video to the timeline and now we have the second piece of the puzzle in the timeline.

Next clip we want to put is a demonstration video and this demonstration video should last about 3 1/2 seconds. So to keep our story line of our subject coming home from the grocery, we want a clip of her putting the grocery in the kitchen. So we’re going to use this video right here and it’s about a little longer than 3 1/2 seconds so we’re going to cut it down a little bit. I’m going to create a new end point, the same we did previously. Now it’s perfect, it’s 3 1/2 seconds and that’s great! After that, we’re going to pull or drag the video into the timeline.

That’s the third piece of the puzzle done!

So the next piece of the puzzle is we want to include a detail shot and it’s going to be 2 and 1/2 seconds. We go to our library of clips on the side and we’re going to click on a detail shot. This is a bird’s eye view of the product.

Now, we’re a little a bit over 2 and 1/2 seconds so I’m going to trim it a little bit by creating a new endpoint the same way we did with the first three clips. Next, we’ll drag the video over to the timeline.

So there you have your first detail shot!

Now, we’re going to move on to the next part of the video and that is a demo shot. And this one is going to be 3 1/2 seconds long. We want to show the subject using the product. Let’s choose the clip from the gallery and bring it over to the timeline. Since it’s 5 seconds ling, we’re going to highlight it and then press Command + R. And that’s going to pull up speed duration and we want to change it to 3 1/3 seconds. It’s going to make the clip a little bit faster and look animated.

||
Moving on, the next piece of the puzzle is detail shot. It’s going to be about 2 1/2 seconds long. And since this grocery bag has different colors, I’m going to chop up the 2 1/2 seconds to 4 shots. To do that, we’re going to divide the clip into 4 parts by creating endpoints for each color. Once you’re done with the first part or color of the bag, you drag to the timeline. Then come back to the clip and do the next color. Do the same process with the remaining colors.

||
And there you go, you have your 2 seconds detail shot!

|
||
So the next part of the puzzle is a demo shot and that’s going to be 3 1/2 seconds. Let’s find a good demo shot and we’re going to choose this clip over here. It’s about 5 seconds long and we’re going to shorten it by dragging the clip into the timeline and then highlighting the clip. Next, press Command + R, and then do change the speed duration to make it shorter.

||
Next, we’re going to add another detail shot. Follow the same process as we did with the previous clip to add another detail shot. It should be about 2 1/2 seconds.

|
||
After than, we’re now going to add the end piece of the video. It should be about 5 seconds long. So we’re going to choose a demonstration for our last shot. It’s clip of our subject unpacking and packing the bag up. Right now, it’s about 14 seconds so I’m going to drag it into timeline and change the duration the same way we did with the previous clips.

||
Now that you have your product demonstration video edited, the next thing we want to to do is to enhance the video color. To do that we’re going to click on the first clip we’ve added and we’re going to come to the menu and click on Color.

That’s going to bring up your basic color correction. It’s already a pretty bright clip but we want to change increase the exposure by 0.1 to add a little bit pop and then adjust the contrast to 20 and as you can see it decrease the black and the shadows. Then adjust the highlight increase by 5, and we’ll decrease the shadow to get a nice contrast. For the white, since it’s pretty bright already, so I’m only going to increase it by 5, and then we do nothing to black and then saturation, up it by 0.50.

||
When you’re done with the first clip, do the same process to the second clip and then the rest of the clips. Once you’re done with the color adjustments, you now have a finished demonstration video.
|
||
|
||
The last thing we need to do is to export the video. So to do this, we go to the Menu, click on File, click on Export and then choose Media. And that’s going to bring up you’re export setting menu. We want to make sure that it’s on the correct format and we want it to be on H.264 and change your preset to match source high bit rate and then change the name of your video. We’re going to do “product demo video” then click on Save. Next, we want to go down on the basic video setting. Scroll down and check if everything’s good then go to “Use maximum render quality” and check the box.

||
Now, you’re ready to export your video so click on Export button and it’s going to start exporting. So that’s it! That’s all you need to do!
