- putting value to your customers by bringing them together
- start small
** start small
- pick 10 people
- tell them they are founders
- make them feel like founders
- true fans will promote you everywhere
- they will get a thousand other fans
** beta marketing
*** build a community
- allow you to give the community value
- you give the community a brand they can rally around
*** example apple "demo days"
- they would have 'demo days' only for select journalists
- these guys would get to see the product earlier than others
- made them fanboys
- you've also give them something to make money on
*** be careful
- if you pick the wrong ones they'll write bad stuff
- don't drive them nuts
- give them toys
** subject matter
- where the community feels a strong bond to the problem you are solving
- tap into what people care about
*** sales team
mobilizing a sales team around your product from a community benefit angle
- they might not care
- or they might really believe and go the extra mile
*** affiliate + community interest

- ULTRA SALESMEN!
